There’s this guy in my monthly photo workshop that is intrigued with reflections in an urban environment. Most of his images come from what appears on the glass surfaces of buildings in the city – and he gets some amazing stuff. I prefer shooting reflections on water because.. why not? Water is where I ground, so to speak.
I look at this shot and think rocks. I never had a reason to see anything but rocks. Then a guy in my critique workshop said it looks like whales. .
Reflections illustrate your own opinion and when they do, they are absolute and immutable, at least until a better suggestion comes along. From now on, what was once my rock shot is now my whale shot.
